Why would I want the 1000 Series Flip-Down Safeties, in addition to the Pin-Pipe Safeties that come with the PR-1000, PR-1050, and PR-1100 racks?
Flip-Down Safeties feature a plastic liner along the top which removes the metal-to-metal contact that occurs when using Pin-Pipe Safeties. This protects your barbell from potential damage when contact is made with the safeties.
Additionally, you'll be able to utilize the 1” holes along the sides of the Flip-Down Safeties with PR-5000 attachments, such as the Leg Roller and Utility Horn. Keep in mind these 5000 Series attachments are designed for 3x3" posts, which means there may be some side-to-side play along the pin when downward pressure is not applied.
